A Shopify landed cost calculator estimates the full price your international customers pay — product, shipping, duty, and import tax — for any destination. Enter a product's HS code and value, pick the destination, and see duties and taxes in seconds before you set store prices or show them at checkout.

Add one product or a whole shipment, choose the destination, and read the itemized duty, tax, and landed cost total.
Estimate import duty, VAT/GST, sales tax, and landed cost for one or many HS codes — including US import duty. Enter a 6-digit HS code for a quick lookup, or a full 10-digit HTS code for a detailed landed cost calculation.
Duty is calculated from each product's HS code and declared value, not a flat guess.
Estimate the landed cost for any destination, since every market sets its own rates.
Feed the same numbers into a DDP setup so customers see one final price.
Calculate duties, taxes, and landed cost for a single product or a whole shipment.
The calculator handles a single product or several at once through its commodity rows, but it is only as accurate as the data you feed it. Every product needs an HS code and a declared value: the code sets the duty rate and the value sets the base it applies to. Classify each SKU once and the estimate holds for every future order.
For a full catalog, get the codes right first with our free HS code finder, then price each product here. This is the same classification that feeds checkout, so a store-wide landed cost is only as good as the codes behind it. Still building the store? The same product has a different landed cost in every country, because duty rates, trade agreements, and import taxes are set per destination. A single "rest of world" price overcharges shoppers in low-tariff markets and quietly loses money in high-tariff ones. Estimate each market separately and price from the real number.
Low-value thresholds differ too, and they have all moved recently. There is no active US $800 de minimis — it was suspended in August 2025, so nearly every commercial US order now owes duty and tax. The EU applies a flat €3 duty on parcels up to €150 (from July 2026), the UK exempts duty under £135, and Canada uses CAD 20 by mail, CAD 40 by courier, and CAD 60 for gifts. Do not assume one rule covers every market.
A landed cost only helps once the customer sees it. When duties arrive later as a courier invoice, shoppers refuse parcels and abandon carts; when the full price appears at checkout, they make one informed decision and nothing is owed on delivery. That is DDP in practice, and it is where most cross-border conversions are won or lost.

Landed cost is the product price plus freight, insurance, duty, and import VAT or GST. For each product, use its HS code and declared value to find the duty rate for the destination country, then apply import tax on goods plus shipping plus duty. Enter those details in the calculator above for an itemized total.
Shopify can calculate and collect estimated duties and import taxes at checkout on eligible plans (Advanced/Plus, or end-to-end via Managed Markets) when you supply accurate HS codes and country of origin. Most merchants estimate each product with a landed cost calculator first, then either enable Shopify's native duty collection or add a duty app.
Every country sets its own duty rates and import taxes, and trade agreements can lower or remove duty for certain origins. Low-value thresholds differ too: there is no active US $800 de minimis (suspended in August 2025), the EU charges a flat €3 duty on parcels up to €150, the UK exempts duty under £135, and Canada uses CAD 20 by mail and CAD 40 by courier. The same product can cost very different amounts in each market.
Yes. The HS code sets the duty rate, so an accurate code is what makes the estimate match what customs charges. Without one, the calculator and the carrier will guess, and customs may reclassify the shipment at a higher rate. Classify each product once and the estimate holds for every order.
You show landed cost at checkout by calculating duties and taxes per product and destination, then displaying that total to the customer before they pay — the DDP model. Shopify can show a native estimate on eligible plans, or a landed-cost app calculates and collects it in the customer's currency. Either way, the customer owes nothing on delivery.
No — landed cost figures are estimates. The final amount is determined by customs at the time of import, and it can change if the product is reclassified, the value is adjusted, or rates change. Well-classified products with accurate values and complete data produce the most reliable estimates.
